ウエブWに対する単位面積当たりの香料の塗布量を監視する機能を制御装置16に設け、これを利用してウエブWの全面あるいは一部の領域に対して香料を選択的に塗布してもよい。この場合は、例えば上述したグラビアロール10のセル形状(周面の凹凸形状)を変更したり、あるいは上述したプレスロール9を上下に移動させたりして香料の塗布量を変更する。プレスロール9の移動は、例えばアクチュエータ21を用いて行うことができる。このアクチュエータ21を制御装置16と接続すれば、制御装置を用いて香料26の塗布量を変更できる。なお、図3では、ウエブWの全面に香料26を塗布した例を示したが、これを任意の所定位置に塗布することも可能である(例えば燃焼抑制剤6が塗布された箇所の裏面には香料26を塗布しない等)。また、制御装置16を用いて塗布するべき香料26に濃淡をつけることもできる。
