Abstract

This invention provides a device (1) for hand rehabilitation of a user. The device comprises: a first board (10) configured as a multi -piece foldable board; a hand fixing means (301-303) for fixing a hand of the user to a first surface (11) of the first board; and an inflatable air bag (50) attached to a second surface (12) of the first board, the second surface being opposite to the first surface. The air bag causes the first board to fold when the airbag is deflated and causes the first board to unfold when the airbag is inflated. In this manner, the pressure exerted on the hand is relatively uniform, since all pieces of the first board have a constant shape and will not deform when the air bag is inflated. Preferably, the device further comprises a second board (20), wherein an end of the first board is pivotally connected to a surface of the second board, the air bag is further attached to the surface of the second board to cause the first board to pivot with respect to the second board when the airbag is inflated. In this way, the device can be used to concurrently exercise the hand and wrist of the user. Moreover, the device is portable and the user can easily put it on to do his exercises, irrespective of the user's posture.
