Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel use of Rubia Cordifolia root extract, and more specifically, relates to a composition for preventing and treating brain cancer, the composition comprising Rubia Cordifolia root ethanol extract as an active ingredient, and to a cosmetic composition for preventing brain cancer, the cosmetic composition comprising the Rubia Cordifolia root ethanol extract, which includes a cosmetologically acceptable cosmetic supplement additive, as an active ingredient. The composition and the cosmetic composition for treating brain cancer according to the present invention are effective in inhibiting growth and inducing death of cancer cells, and thereby, can be effectively used in treating and preventing brain cancer.
