Abstract

A method is described for establishing an end-to-end multipath connection between two peers using of a multi-connection transport protocol (MCTP) architecture. The MCTP architecture may include a packet scheduler, a queue configured to store a plurality of packets received from the packet scheduler in a particular sequence, a sub-flow manager configured to distribute the packets among a plurality of sub-flows, wherein at least two of the sub-flows are synchronized, and a synchronized congestion controller (SCC) configured to control congestion of the synchronized sub-flows. A first transmission control protocol (TCP) positive acknowledgement (ACK) may be generated when a first TCP packet is received over one of the synchronized sub-flows. Duplicate TCP packets received after the first TCP packet is received may be discarded. ACKs received after the first ACK may be discarded if they correspond to a TCP packet that was already acknowledged.
