Abstract

In a method for packaging products, in particular hygiene products, in packaging bags (27), in which method, after introducing the products into the respective packaging bag (27), the end faces (34) thereof are folded by folding over the end flaps (48) formed in each case at the end faces by the side walls (40), and then welded, wherein the packaging bag (27) is guided, to weld the end faces (34) thereof, in a transport direction through a welding station (36), it is intended to ensure particularly high throughput and production rates and hence a particularly high production speed combined with high reliability. For this purpose, according to the invention, during the folding of the end faces (34), the rear end flap (48) as viewed in the transport direction of the packaging bag (27) is folded over by guiding a folding cam (54) past the packaging bag (27) in the transport direction at a higher speed as viewed in comparison to the transport speed of the packaging bag (27).
