Abstract

The invention relates to a seat body for a motor vehicle seat, with a seat shell (3) which can be connected to a seat underframe. In order to provide a seat body for a motor vehicle seat, said seat body having a low dead weight but at the same time a high energy absorption capacity, the seat shell has a main body (7) formed from a thermoplastic and a reinforcing element (8) which is embedded in the main body and extends substantially transversely with respect to the seat shell.
