Abstract
Cette invention concerne une approche essentiellement novatrice destinée à maintenir la sécurité écologique et à accroître l'efficacité de méthodes insecticides. Les moyens proposés dans le cadre de cette invention ont pour effet de provoquer une rupture des intestins des insectes, mécaniquement et depuis l'intérieur. A cette fin, on recouvre les feuilles des semis d'une multitude de microcapsules qui seront ingérées par les insectes en même tant que la masse de feuilles. Les enveloppes de ces capsules se dissolvent sous l'effet des sucs digestifs de l'insecte et entraînent une intense formation de gaz. Ce gaz dilate les voies gastro-intestinales de l'insecte depuis l'intérieur vers l'extérieur et provoque une rupture des intestins. Les microcapsules renferment des substances/prédécesseurs qui dans un environnement contenant de l'eau, interagissent et produisent un gaz de dioxyde de carbone. L'effet dilatant de ce gaz compromet la santé de l'insecte, réduit son activité et causes des lésions irréparables des intestins entraînant la mort. Ainsi, les insectes sont détruits dans leur totalité et/ou leur capacité de nuisance est réduite par suite de leur activité réduite en termes de voracité ou de capacité à se reproduire. Ce moyen peut s'utiliser contre le doryphore de la pomme de terre (Leptinotarsa
decemlineata) ou autres bestioles (insecte ou rongeur) qui se nourrissent de semis ou de produits prêts d'origine végétale ou de plantes fourragères. En résumé, l'invention peut être caractérisée en ce qu'elle concerne « des microcapsules mangeables et biodégradables contenant des substances qui produisent du gaz, agissent dans un environnement humide et permettent de lutter contre les insectes ravageurs ».
