Abstract
Description
(1) 二酸化チタンの結晶粒子と該結晶粒子の表面を被覆する表面修飾子とを有する表面修飾チタニア粒子を製造する方法であって、
チタンアルコキシド化合物と、アルコキシシラン類と、アルコールと、酸と、水と、を含む原料溶液を調製する第1の工程と、
前記原料溶液に加熱処理を施す第2の工程と、を有することを特徴とする表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
前記表面修飾チタニア粒子の含有量が50質量%であるとき、光路長1cmにおける波長400~700nmの光線の透過率が90%以上であることを特徴とするチタニア粒子分散液。
前記表面修飾チタニア粒子を50質量%の割合で含む当該チタニア粒子分散樹脂を、厚さ2mmの層状に成形したとき、厚さ方向における波長400~700nmの光線の透過率が70%以上であることを特徴とするチタニア粒子分散樹脂。
(チタニア粒子)
本発明で得られる表面修飾チタニア粒子において、コアに相当するチタニア粒子は、二酸化チタンの結晶粒子である。二酸化チタンは、屈折率が高く、かつ微小粒子の製造が容易であるため、マトリックス中に分散させる金属酸化物として好適である。
本発明で得られる表面修飾チタニア粒子においてシェルに相当する表面修飾子は、上述したチタニア粒子の表面を被覆するよう配置されている。

[式(1)中、mは1~10程度の整数、nは1~3000程度の整数であるのが好ましい。また、MeOはメトキシ基を表し、EGはエチレングリコール鎖を表す。]
等が挙げられる。
本発明の表面修飾チタニア粒子は、前述したように、チタニア粒子と、その表面を覆う表面修飾子とを有するものである。
次いで、上述したような表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法(本発明の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法)について説明する。
[1]原料溶液の調製(第1の工程)
[1-1]まず、原料溶液の調製に先立って、アルコキシシラン類と、アルコールと、酸と、水と、を含む予備溶液を調製する。
なお、原料溶液中には、不可避的に混入する不純物等を含んでいてもよい。
次いで、得られた粒子状のチタニアゾルの分散液に対して加熱処理を施す。これにより、粒子状のチタニアゾルが結晶化し、結晶性のチタニア粒子が得られる。
以上のようにして、表面修飾チタニア粒子の分散液が得られる。
次いで、得られた表面修飾チタニア粒子の分散液に対して、液相成分を揮発・除去する。これにより、分散質である表面修飾チタニア粒子を回収することができる。
本発明の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法により製造された表面修飾チタニア粒子は、前述したように、マトリックスに対する分散性が極めて高いため、高濃度のチタニア粒子分散液(本発明のチタニア粒子分散液)を得ることができる。
本発明の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法により製造された表面修飾チタニア粒子は、前述したように、マトリックスに対する分散性が極めて高いため、樹脂材料中に高濃度のチタニア粒子を含んでなるチタニア粒子分散樹脂(本発明のチタニア粒子分散樹脂)を得ることができる。
1.表面修飾チタニア粒子およびその分散液の製造
(実施例1) 溶媒:エタノール
オクチルトリエトキシシラン(OTS:東京化成製)157μl(0.5mmol)をエタノール(和光純薬製)25mlに溶解し、これに2規定塩酸(和光純薬製)194μl加えた。この溶液を20時間室温で攪拌し、予備溶液を調製した。この溶液に、チタンテトライソプロポキシド(TTIP:東京化成製)568mg(2mmol)を加え、撹拌して原料溶液を調製した。なお、[Ti]/[Si]の比は4である。
エタノール25mlの代わりにn-プロパノール(和光純薬製)25mlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
エタノール25mlの代わりに2-プロパノール(和光純薬製)25mlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、白色不透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径15~30nmの不定形微結晶であることがわかった。
エタノール25mlの代わりにn-ブタノール(関東化学製)25mlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
エタノール25mlの代わりにi-ブタノール(関東化学製)25mlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、やや白濁した溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は約20nm×10nmの錘状微結晶であることがわかった。
2規定塩酸194μlの代わりに6規定塩酸(和光純薬製)194μlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
2規定塩酸194μlの代わりに2規定塩酸97μlと純水(和光純薬製)97μlを混合して用いた以外は実施例1と同様の操作を行った。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)と透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果から、生成物は不定形の非晶質微粒子であることがわかった。
2規定塩酸194μlの代わりに、2規定臭化水素酸200μlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
加熱温度を200℃とした以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
加熱温度を100℃とした以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~2.5nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
OTSを628μl、2規定塩酸を776μl用いた以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。[Ti]/[Si]の比が1であった。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
マイクロ波加熱装置の代わりにオーブンを用いて加熱を行った以外は実施例1と同様の方法にてオクチル基修飾チタニアナノ結晶を合成した。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、(ヒドロキシ(ポリエチレンオキシ)プロピル)トリエトキシシラン(Gelest社製)を用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物に水・メタノール混合液(水:メタノール=1:1(体積比))5mlを加えると均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、(ヘプタフルオロ-1,1,2,2-テトラヒドロデシル)トリエトキシシラン(Gelest社製)を用いるようにした以外は、実施例1と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物にクロロホルム5mlを加えると均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、メタクリロキシプロピルトリエトキシシランを用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物は5mlの酢酸エチルに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、3-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシランを用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物は5mlのテトラヒドロフランに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、アリルトリエトキシシランを用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物は5mlのトルエンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、ビニルトリエトキシシランを用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物は5mlのジクロロメタンに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
n-オクチルトリエトキシシランに代えて、3-メルカプトプロピルトリエトキシシラン(Gelest社製)を用いるようにした以外は、実施例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。生成物は5mlのクロロホルムに均一に分散し、無色透明の溶液が得られた。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から生成物はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、この生成物は粒子直径5~8nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
まず、ジ(2-エチルヘキシル)スルホコハク酸ナトリウム8.90g、蒸留水3.60ml、およびパラトルエンスルホン酸一水和物0.77gを、キシレン100mlに加え、均一溶液となるまで室温で撹拌し、逆ミセル溶液を調製した。
ベンジルアルコールにドーパミン塩酸塩を溶解させ、そこに四塩化チタンを添加して溶液を調製した。
ドーパミン塩酸塩に代えて、4-tert―ブチルカテコールを用いるようにした以外は、比較例2と同様にして表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。
ジオクチルエーテルにトリオクチルホスフィンとラウリン酸を加え、得られた溶液を300℃で加熱した。
そして、得られた表面修飾チタニア粒子をトルエンに再分散させたところ、無色透明の分散液が得られた。
n-ブタノールにアセチルアセトンを溶解し、これにチタンテトラブトキシド(TTB)を滴下した。次いで、得られた溶液にパラトルエンスルホン酸(PTSA)水溶液を加え、60℃で一晩加熱することで粒径2nmの表面修飾チタニア粒子を得た。
オレイン酸にチタンテトライソプロポキシドを溶解し、得られた溶液に110℃に加熱した。
エタノール25mlに2規定塩酸194μl加え、この溶液を20時間室温で攪拌し、TTIP568mg(2mmol)を加えた。この溶液を加圧容器に充填し、マイクロ波加熱装置で140℃2時間加熱を行った。この溶液にOTS157μl(0.5mmol)加えて室温で20時間攪拌した。反応溶液をロータリーエバポレータによって揮発性物質を除去すると、無色の固体と油状物質が分離した状態で得られた。生成物にトルエン5mlを加えると油状物質は溶解したが、無色固体は均一分散しなかった。粉末エックス線回折(XRD)の結果から無色固体はアナターゼ型二酸化チタンであり、透過電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察の結果、粒子直径2~3nmの微結晶であることがわかった。
2規定塩酸194μlの代わりに純水194μlを用いた以外は実施例1と同様の操作を行った。チタンテトライソプロポキシドを加えた時点で溶液中に多量の白色沈殿を生じ、加熱後生成物はいかなる溶媒にも均一分散しなかった。XRDの結果から生成物は非晶質であることがわかった。
2.1 外観の評価
各実施例で得られたチタニア粒子分散液について、その外観を作製(再分散)直後、作製から1日後、および作製から1週間後において観察した。そして、観察結果を以下の評価基準にしたがって評価した。
◎:無色透明である
○:わずかに着色している、あるいは、わずかに濁っている
△:やや強く着色している、あるいは、やや強く濁っている
×:強く着色している、あるいは、強く濁っている
各実施例で得られたチタニア粒子分散液について、JIS K 7361に準じて全光線透過率を測定した。
次いで、チタニア粒子分散液を光路長1cmの石英セルに充填し、石英セルに波長400~700nmの光を照射して透過率を測定した。
実施例15~20で得られた表面修飾チタニア粒子を、マトリックス樹脂に分散させ、チタニア粒子分散樹脂を得た。
次いで、チタニア粒子分散樹脂を厚さ2mmの層状に成形し、試験片を得た。
以上、実施例1~14の評価結果を表1、実施例15~20の評価結果を表2に示す。

Claims (21)
- 二酸化チタンの結晶粒子と該結晶粒子の表面を被覆する表面修飾子とを有する表面修飾チタニア粒子を製造する方法であって、
チタンアルコキシド化合物と、アルコキシシラン類と、アルコールと、酸と、水と、を含む原料溶液を調製する第1の工程と、
前記原料溶液に加熱処理を施す第2の工程と、を有することを特徴とする表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。 - 前記第1の工程において、アルコキシシラン類と、アルコールと、酸と、水と、を含む予備溶液を調製した後、該予備溶液にチタンアルコキシド化合物を添加することにより前記原料溶液を調製する請求項1に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記予備溶液の調製と前記第2の工程との間に、前記予備溶液または前記原料溶液を室温~100℃の温度で、4~48時間放置する請求項2に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記アルコキシシラン類は、シランカップリング剤またはテトラアルコキシシランである請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記シランカップリング剤は、炭素数4以上の脂肪族炭化水素、または、芳香族炭化水素を、含むものである請求項4に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記シランカップリング剤は、ポリエチレングリコールを結合させたものである請求項4に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記シランカップリング剤は、フルオロカーボンを含むものである請求項4に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記シランカップリング剤は、重合性官能基を含むものである請求項4に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記アルコールは、炭素数6個以下の低級アルコールである請求項1ないし8のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記酸は、無機酸である請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記無機酸は、構造式がHX(X=ClまたはBr)で表わされるハロゲン化水素酸である請求項10に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記第2の工程の後に設けられ、前記原料溶液の周囲を減圧することにより、前記原料溶液中の液相成分を蒸発させる第3の工程を有する請求項1ないし11のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記酸は、揮発して除去可能なものである請求項12に記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記第1の工程の前記原料溶液調製前において、前記酸の量は、前記水に溶解させたときの濃度が1~10Nとなる量である請求項1ないし13のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記原料溶液において、チタンアルコキシド化合物およびアルコキシシラン類に対する水の量が1~5等量である請求項1ないし14のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記加熱処理の温度は、100~240℃である請求項1ないし15のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 前記加熱は、マイクロ波加熱により行われる請求項1ないし16のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法。
- 請求項1ないし17のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法により製造された表面修飾チタニア粒子を液相分散媒に分散してなるチタニア粒子分散液であって、
前記表面修飾チタニア粒子の含有量が50質量%であるとき、光路長1cmにおける波長400~700nmの光線の透過率が90%以上であることを特徴とするチタニア粒子分散液。 - 請求項1ないし17のいずれかに記載の表面修飾チタニア粒子の製造方法により製造された表面修飾チタニア粒子をマトリックス樹脂に分散してなるチタニア粒子分散樹脂であって、
前記表面修飾チタニア粒子を50質量%の割合で含む当該チタニア粒子分散樹脂を、厚さ2mmの層状に成形したとき、厚さ方向における波長400~700nmの光線の透過率が70%以上であることを特徴とするチタニア粒子分散樹脂。 - 前記マトリックス樹脂は、シリコーン系樹脂、アクリル系樹脂、エポキシ系樹脂およびオレフィン系樹脂のいずれかである請求項19に記載のチタニア粒子分散樹脂。
- 前記表面修飾チタニア粒子に含まれる前記結晶粒子は、平均粒径2~15nmのチタンアナターゼ結晶構造の二酸化チタン粒子である請求項19または20に記載のチタニア粒子分散樹脂。
