Abstract

A system includes a strap (1) made using a layer (60) of resilient and pliant material such as neoprene. A cutout (5) extends along the strap and ends at connecting areas (10) of the resilient and pliant material, and a load (80) can be connected to the connecting areas (10). When a user employs the system, a weight of the load (80) is primarily applied to the user at a load bearing area of the strap (1) including the central cutout (5). In some embodiments, the strap (1) may further include curved edge (15) that helps the strap (1) conform to anatomy (e.g., a shoulder) of a user, and a swivel (30) that connects the strap (1) to an extension strap (1a).
