Abstract

본 발명은 아바타를 생성하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 아바타 생성 방법은, 아바타로 만들어질 객체를 인식하는 단계, 객체의 구별 특징(distinguishing feature)을 인식하여, 구별 특징 정보를 생성하는 단계, 구별 특징 정보를 포함하는 구별 특징 메타데이터를 생성하는 단계 및 구별 특징 메타데이터를 이용하여 아바타를 생성하는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명에 의하면 쌍둥이와 같이 동일한 객체에 대한 아바타를 생성하는 경우, 각 객체가 갖는 고유의 특징, 즉 구별 특징을 이용하여 아바타를 생성함으로써 동일한 아바타에 차이점을 부여할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
