Abstract

The present invention relates to a nonaqueous carbon dioxide absorber containing secondary alkanolamine and diol in which sterical hindrance is introduced. The carbon dioxide absorber according to the invention exhibits an excellent absorption force and a fast absorption rate as compared with an absorber based on a conventional alkanolamine-based solution. In addition, an absorber regeneration temperature is remarkably lowered as compared with a conventional absorber. Therefore, the entire energy consumption required for an absorption step is largely reduced and the contamination of recovered CO2 caused by moisture and absorber vapor is prevented.
