Abstract

The present invention relates to a terminal for performing both package file downloading and application installation, and a method for same, and more particularly, to a terminal for performing application installation while downloading a package file for application installation in order to install an application, and a method for same. To this end, the terminal for performing both package file downloading and application installation according to the present invention includes: a file requesting unit for requesting a package file to a server; a metadata unit for downloading metadata on the requested package file from the server; a partial data unit for downloading partial data on the package file; a download confirming unit for confirming whether the package file being downloaded is completely downloaded for each frame by using the metadata; and an installation unit for installing an application by using the frame of the package file.
