Abstract

The present invention relates to a power supply device for a closed-circuit TV camera. The device of the present invention includes: a housing; a switching mode power supply (SMPS) unit, which has a structure consisting of multiple power supply channels, which is mounted on the housing, and which converts inputted commercial AC power into DC drive power and supplies the converted DC drive power to a plurality of closed-circuit TV cameras; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the SMPS unit. The SMPS unit includes separate SMPS boards, wherein there are more SMPS boards than there are power supply channels, and the control unit functions so as to enable a preliminary SMPS board to maintain the power supply when one of the separate SMPS boards breaks down. According to the present invention, by using multiple power supply channels for a plurality of cameras with one power supply device, even when one channel breaks down, the power supply state may be maintained by means of the automatic switch from a channel to a preliminary channel. Since separate SMPS boards constituting multiple power supply channels are slidably detachable, maintenance may be improved.
