Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for non-contact imaging, in which a target to be imaged is illuminated with a modulated light beam, and a diverging modulated light, and a first image and a second image of the respectively illuminated target captured with an image capture device - the images having at least one pixel containing amplitude and phase information. Distance information relating to position of the image capture device relative to the target is determined using information contained in the second image, and internal characteristics of the target determined using information contained in the first image in combination with the distance information.
