Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for left and right-handed operation of a digital door lock in which a dead bolt and a latch bolt can be released at the same time, such that either a left-handed person or a right-handed person can use the digital door lock through a simple manipulation. In a conventional mortise lock, components of a switching device are complicated, and the mortise lock is not easy to manipulate. Thus, to solve the above-described limitations, the apparatus for left and right-handed operation of the digital door lock includes: a movement shaft having a front end in which a coupling groove is formed and the other end on which a stopper is disposed, the movement shaft including a guide part between the coupling groove and the stopper and being horizontally moved by a first spring; a latch bolt coupled to the front end of the movement shaft, the latch bolt being rotated by disposing a coupling pin inserted through a coupling groove formed in a lower side thereof in the coupling groove; and a switching device including a first projection inserted into the guide part to fix the movement shaft, the switching device including a movement interception part configured to be vertically moved by a second spring. Thus, the switching device may be constituted of simple components and simply manipulated without using a tool. In addition, since there is less possibility of the apparatus breaking down, maintenance may be easy and product costs may be reduced.
