Abstract

A movable bearing with damping function, consisting of at least one outer ring (5) which is axially displaceable in a bearing bore (2) in a machine housing (1), at least one inner ring (8) which is arranged axially non-displaceably on a shaft or spindle (12), and rolling bodies (10) rolling in between on raceways (6, 9), in particular for the shaft mounting of machine tool spindles. The movable bearing according to the invention with damping function requires little structural and production outlay by the damping function resulting from the direct interaction of the at least one outer ring (5) with the bearing bore (2).
