Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant de combiner ou de séparer des composantes spectrales à l'aide d'un dispositif polychrome. Un dispositif polychrome est utilisé afin de combiner plusieurs faisceaux provenant chacun d'une source distincte, en un seul faisceau de sortie, permettant ainsi la définition d'au moins un des paramètres que sont l'intensité, la couleur, l'uniformité de couleur, l'angle de divergence, le degré de collimation, la polarisation, la focalisation ou la largeur de faisceau du faisceau de sortie. La combinaison des sources et du dispositif polychrome peut être utilisée comme un affichage à intimité accrue et afin de multiplexer des signaux de multiples composantes spectrales. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation de l'invention, un dispositif polychrome sert à disperser des composantes spectrales pour des applications spectroscopiques ou de démultiplexage.
