Abstract

Method for producing building products. During the method additive and binding materials are mixed. As binding material plastic waste material is used. The additive material is sand which is mixed with the binding material consisting of pulverized, granulated or shredded thermoplastic material to form a homogeneous mixture. The mixture is introduced to a heating apparatus and the additive material is melted under pressure. The so produced mixture is forced out from the apparatus and fed into a mould and pressed in order to obtain the final shape of the product. When pressing is completed the mould with the product inside is cooled down. The product may be used for example for roof tiles, concrete products, floor tiles, containing 26-32 mass percentage of plastic waste material as binding material and 64.5-72 mass percentage of sand as additive material. Generally it also contains some paint advantageously in pulverized form.
