If Bob is not reachable by the IP voice call (e.g. Bob's application 1 is not reachable according to the register of the IP voice server 2), the IP voice server 2 may transfer the call to a gateway from where it continues as a circuit-switched call (such as a GSM call) to Bob's mobile station MS2.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une application client installée dans une station mobile (MS1) qui surveille des réseaux à large bande (WLAN) disponibles dans la zone. Lorsqu'un appel est établi à partir de la station mobile (MS1), l'application intervient dans tous les appels sortant et si un réseau à large bande (WLAN) est disponible, elle interroge un serveur vocal (2) pour savoir si un abonné appelé (MS2) est atteignable par un appel VoIP sur le réseau à large bande. Si tel est le cas, un appel VoIP sur le réseau à large bande est économiquement et techniquement raisonnable, le serveur vocal (2) commande la station mobile (MS1) pour établir un appel VoIP. Si l'abonné appelé (MS1) n'est pas atteignable par un appel VoIP dans un réseau raisonnable pour un appel VoIP, le serveur vocal (2) commande la station mobile appelante (MS1) pour établir un appel mobile à commutation de circuit normal (CS).
