Abstract

The invention provides a method and device for detecting a link loss ratio. The method includes: receiving a Loss Measurement Message (LMM) sent from an opposite side device through a link, wherein the LMM carries the number of the messages sent from the opposite side device to the local side device during the interval between the last time and the current time for sending an LMM from the opposite side device to the local side device; and according to the interval between the current time and the last time to receive the LMM, the number of the received messages sent from the opposite side device during the interval, and the number, carried in the LMM, of the messages which are sent from the opposite side device to the local side device, computing the loss ratio of the link during the interval. The device includes a reception module and a computation module.
