본 발명은 폴리에스테르 섬유를 포함하는 에어백용 원단에 관한 것으로, 특히, 내열 상수(X)가 비코팅 원단 상태에서 1.0 내지 6.5인 폴리에스테르 원단 및 그의 제조 방법, 이를 포함하는 차량용 에어백에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 에어백용 원단은 낮은 모듈러스, 고강도, 고신율의 폴리에스테르 섬유를 사용하여 고강력 및 고내열성의 기계적 물성이 우수하고, 이와 동시에 우수한 수납성, 형태안정성, 및 공기 차단 효과를 제공하며 승객에게 가해지는 충격을 최소화하여 탑승자를 안전하게 보호할 수 있다.
