Abstract

A thermal energy storage system including a thermal energy capturing apparatus connected to a thermal energy transfer component and a thermal energy utilization component is disclosed. The thermal energy transfer component includes a fluid accumulator connected in series to a thermal energy storage unit and a fluid buffer. A process for utilizing thermal energy is also disclosed.
