Definitions
- the present invention relates to an adapter for a syringe, an adapter assembly for a syringe, a syringe, and a method of fabricating the syringe, and more particularly, to an adapter for a syringe, which may be easily installed in a main body of a universal syringe without being escaped in an axial direction thereof, an adapter assembly for a syringe, a syringe, and a method of fabricating the syringe.
- a syringe includes a needle connecting portion, to which a needle is inserted and coupled, and a syringe main body including a cylindrical body portion and an injection portion extending from the body portion and formed as a tapered-shape having a diameter that is less than that of the body portion.
- a stick having an end portion, on which an air tightening member is formed is inserted in the main body of the syringe.
- the stick moves in the main body of the syringe to spray a solution existing in the main body of the syringe to outside through the injection portion and the needle.
- the needle connecting portion of the syringe is formed of a plastic material, to which the needle is integrally coupled, having a shape corresponding to the injection portion. The needle connecting portion is inserted into the injection portion to be coupled to the main body of the syringe.
- the needle connecting portion and the main body of the syringe are coupled to each other only in a forced insertion method. Accordingly, if an external force in an axial direction is applied to the syringe, the needle connecting portion is likely to be escaped from the main body of the syringe. In addition, if the external force is applied to the injection portion having the tapered-shape, the injection portion is easily broken.
- the needle connecting portion may be coupled to the main body of the syringe in a rotating manner; however, production costs of the syringe increase in this case. In addition, the rotating method may not have sufficient fixing force, either, because the fixing force is only dependent on a frictional force.
- a Luer lock type medical connecting apparatus includes a nozzle 2, in which an inner path 2a is formed in an axial direction thereof, including a bearing connection surface 3 formed as a cone with cut end and a ring maintain portion 4; a flange 5 for forming an open sheet 5a in the axial direction, the flange 5 including a wall 6 including a distal portion 6a having an inner screw 12 and a lateral proximal portion 6b, in which a center opening having a diameter that is the same as that of the ring maintain portion 4 of the nozzle, and fixing on the nozzle 2 by translating and/or rotating toward the nozzle due to an engagement between the ring maintain portion 4 of the nozzle 2 and a center maintain opening 7; and a connecting member 8 including a bearing connection surface 9 becoming a pair with the bearing connection surface of the nozzle 2 and at least one outer lateral wing 10 for forming a screw 11 that
- the shape of the syringe should be deformed so that the flange may be inserted into the syringe in order to install the flange in the syringe.
- the Luer lock type syringe may not be applied to general syringes, and fabrication of the Luer lock type syringe costs a lot.
- the present invention provides an adapter for a syringe, which is universal to be applied to conventional syringes and fixes a needle to a main body of the syringe with a sufficient force, an adapter assembly for a syringe, a syringe, and a method of fabricating the syringe.
- the needle may be firmly fixed in the main body of the syringe when a universal syringe is used. That is, according to the adapter for the syringe of the present embodiment, the self-threading thread is formed on the inner surface of the supporting member having the high hardness because the main body of the syringe is formed of plastic material that has lower hardness than that of the supporting member, and the self-threading thread forms the male screw on the surface of the main body of the syringe while rotating, and thereby firmly coupling to the main body of the syringe.
- the main body of the universal syringe may be used, and there is no need to perform an additional process on the surface of the main body for the fixed coupling operation. Therefore, fabrication costs of the syringe may be reduced.
