Definitions
- the device for disinfection for application in hospital drainage probes of the present invention uses a source of ultraviolet and / or ozone generating radiation as a sterilization measure, radiating with at least one source of ultraviolet and / or ozone generating light (1 ) on the probe (2) (figure 1) transmitting this radiation to the patient and / or to the drainage bag (6) at its most distal end (figure 2), the constituent material of the probe being plastic with luminoconductive properties, in this way the risks of infection in the patient are minimized, also avoiding the possible risk of contagion by the health personnel when this material is handled.
- the invention has the advantage of being a non-invasive and removable method, that is, the device can be applied and removed simply without having to alter the current drainage procedures. It has the advantage of constituting a recoverable device, after its application, it will be removed and can be reused again.
- the disinfection device for application in hospital drainage probes comprises at least one source of ultraviolet and / or ozone generating radiation (1), and can be integrated in a portable device (3) powered by batteries (4) and its corresponding power switch.
- drive (5) (figure 1), or said light source and its external power supply (7) (figure 3), guiding said light source through a probe of a lumm 'or conductive nature (8) to the element (9) contact with the probe, which will have an inner surface (10) ( Figures 3 and 4) in contact with it, of a luminoconductive nature and therefore transmitter of ultraviolet light radiation and / or ozone generator.
- the radiation surface will have a geometry of adaptation to the probe that maximizes the contact between both bodies, for example, in the case that we select the contact point of the luminoconducting device in the catheter (figures 3 and 4), the device will be installed comfortably on said catheter being fixed on it firmly by means of a clamp type element (9) (figure 3), or by another type of mechanical or adhesive retention of conventional use, which can be removed after application.
- Versions are provided in which by inserting an opaque connector to this radiation into the catheter (11) (figure 5) or by introducing a discontinuity in the luminoconductive nature of the catheter (12) it is possible to radiate to the patient or to the drainage bag Figures 7 and 8), or both ways ( Figure 6) depending on how we place the radiation emitting element (3) fixed in one of the sectorized sections or covering both.
- Versions are planned in which ultraviolet and / or ozone generating radiation is not carried out from outside the probe as in the typology described above, but this radiation emanates from inside the catheter by means of an emitting device (13) ( Figures 9 and 10) which will contain at least one ultraviolet and / or ozone generating source (1), its power supply and its conventional switching circuit. Said emitting device will penetrate the connection valve (14) of the probe, radiating from inside.
- an emitting device (13) ( Figures 9 and 10)
- Said emitting device will penetrate the connection valve (14) of the probe, radiating from inside.
- the source of emission of ultraviolet light and / or ozone generator is housed in an external device (7) (figure 10), which has a fiber of light-conducting nature (8), which will guide said light source penetrating the connection valve (14) (figure 10) of the probe.
- Figure 1 shows an ultraviolet radiation device and / or ozone generator for disinfection application in hospital drainage probes, which shows:
- Figure 2 shows the portable clamp type device (3), fixed in the catheter of a probe, where (6) represents the drainage bag.
- Figure 3 shows a general view of the ultraviolet radiation device 5 and / or ozone generator for disinfection of application in hospital drainage probes where (7) represents the external light source, which is guided through a flexible light-conducting fiber ( 8) to the contact element of this source with the probe (9)
- Figure 4 shows a detail of the transmitting element of the light source to the probe (9) in which (8) is the flexible luminoconductive fiber and (10) shows the luminoconductive nature on the contact surface with the probe, which It has the element (9).

- Figure 6 shows the portable device (3) located on the luminoconductive discontinuity (12), comprising the two ends on both sides of this discontinuity.
- Figure 7 shows the portable device (3) located to the left of the luminoconductive discontinuity of the catheter (12).
- Figure 8 shows the portable device (3) located to the right of the luminoconductive discontinuity of the catheter (12).

- Figure 10 shows the transmitter device that can be connected to the valve (13) inserted in the probe connection valve (14).
- Figure 11 reflects the external light source (7) with its flexible light-guided light-conducting fiber (8), inserted into the probe connection valve (14)
- Figure 12 shows a section of the distal end of a urinary probe and his bladder fixation balloon (18), which also represents:
- the device for disinfection of application in hospital drainage probes comprises at least one source of ultraviolet and / or ozone generating light (1) housed in an opaque assembly (3) that also houses the power supply (4 ) and the switch (5).
- the assembly has a main body (3) joined by means of an articulation to a flange, allowing the relative rotation of the flange towards the main body (3), firmly retaining the catheter of the probe in the cylindrical cavity formed by both bodies that will be of luminoconductive nature and permeable to said light source, thus taking advantage of the sterilizing and germicidal action of this radiation.
- the device for disinfection of application in hospital drainage probes is described, this probe will be made of luminoconductive material whose property has been achieved, for example, by coating the constituent material of the probe with a plastic polymer with a refractive index different. The light radiation is transmitted along the probe to the drainage bag and the patient.
- the activation of the ultraviolet radiation device and / or ozone generator for disinfection of urinary genito pathways will be carried out by means of a switch drive (5), or a timed circuit that sets the operating periods at the discretion of the physician.
