Abstract

A system, method, and computer-readable storage medium configured to facilitate cargo transactions. The system includes a portal, such as a web portal or application, that shippers, truck drivers, and/or buyers can access to input and review information about cargo shipments, authorize payments, and transmit other communications and data. Upon hiring a truck driver to deliver cargo to a buyer, a shipper can access the portal to input, among other things, information about the shipment and payment conditions. The information about the shipment may include poof-of-delivery instructions and the payment conditions may specify when and how much to pay the truck driver. After pickup and delivery of the cargo, the shipper, buyer and/or an authorized individual may access the portal to confirm pickup, delivery, and authorize payments.
