Abstract

The invention pertains to the field of packaging and relates to a hinged disk top closure with a locking device that automatically returns to the locked position, developed to make handling safer and prevent the closure from being opened when this is undesirable, in particular by children. The closure consists of a substantially cylindrical main body (1) for coupling to the neck of the package (not depicted) containing the stored product, and provided with a concave depression (2) in the edge thereof (3). The depression is aligned with the axis of a horizontal hook-shaped extension (4) that forms a catch for the lower end (5) of an elongated strip (6) that projects from the rear part of the skirt (7) of a cap (8) hingedly attached to the main body (1) by two hemispherical projections (9) that fit into cavities (10) having the same shape and located in the inner face (11) of the main body (1).
