Abstract

Procédé de localisation de la position latérale des roues d'un véhicule muni d'un système de surveillance de la pression des pneus. Chaque roue du véhicule comporte un boitier électronique fixé sur une jante de rayon R. Chaque boitier comporte notamment deux accéléromètres (5a, 5b), disposés perpendiculairement l'un par rapport à l'autre et mesurant l'un une composante radiale F1 de l'accélération, et l'autre une composante tangentielle F2 de l'accélération. Ces composantes sont déphasées d'un angle de déphasage α prédéterminé. Le procédé est du type consistant à : I) mesurer, par tour de roue, à des intervalles de temps donnés (Tmesure), un nombre (N) de valeurs d'accélération par chacun des accéléromètres (5a, 5b), II) calculer d'une valeur physique (P) représentative du signe de l'angle de déphasage a entre les deux accéléromètres, III) déterminer la position latérale de la roue, à partir de la valeur physique (P) représentative du signe de l'angle de déphasage. Selon l'invention, lors de l'étape I) on fixe un nombre minimum (N) de mesures d'accélération par tour de roue nécessaires au calcul du signe de l'angle de déphasage, et on détermine les intervalles de temps (Tmesure) entre deux mesures d'accélération par la relation suivante: (formule I).
