Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for performing a transesterification reaction by heating a reaction mixture comprising at least one carboxylic acid ester and at least one alcohol as reactants in a reactor, wherein the transesterification reaction is performed in the presence of at least one metal catalyst substantially insoluble in the reaction mixture under the reaction conditions. The reaction mixture is in contact with a heating medium present within the reactor that can be heated in the present method by electromagnetic induction, and said medium is heated by electromagnetic induction by means of an inductor.
