Abstract

본 발명은 락테이트 중합체 (PLA) 및 락테이트 공중합체 (PLA copolymer)를 합성할 수 있는 다양한 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소(polyhydroxyalkanoate synthase; PHA synthase)의 변이체들과 그것을 이용한 락테이트 중합체 및 락테이트 공중합체의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 더욱 자세하게는, 서열번호가 2, 4, 6 또는 8인 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소의 변이체, 그리고 상기 합성효소 변이체를 이용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 락테이트 중합체 및 락테이트 공중합체의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 서열번호가 2, 4, 6 또는 8인 폴리하이드록시알카노에이트 합성효소들은 락테이트 중합체 합성 활성에 영향을 미치는 아미노산 서열 변이에 의해 락테이트 중합체 및 락테이트 공중합체 합성 활성을 가질 수 있게 되며, 이들 합성효소 변이체들을 이용하면 각기 다른 성질을 가지는 락테이트 중합체 및 공중합체를 제조할 수 있다.
