Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle component having a sandwich structure, the sandwich structure comprising a honeycomb core (1) having a plurality of webs (1') and two cover layers (2, 3), wherein the motor vehicle component has a curved shape having a radius (r, R), and wherein the honeycomb core (1) is made of paper and the cover layers (2, 3) comprise thermoplastic plastic. The webs (1') of the curved honeycomb core provide a composite together with the cover layer (2, 3) by means of a flow border of the plastic material of the cover layer (2, 3) provided at the connection points of the webs (1') to the cover layer (2, 3). The invention further relates to methods for producing a motor vehicle component that has a curved shape having a radius (r, R) and that has a sandwich structure.
