Abstract

La invención se refiere a la modificación covalente de proteínas para su visualización instantánea y subsecuente caracterización. La modificación se produce mediante la adición nucleofílica de un colorante con un grupo funcional, por ejemplo un grupo vinil, que reacciona con los grupos amino de la proteína, preferentemente en los aminoácidos lisina de la secuencia peptídica, y que opcionalmente tiene otro al menos otro grupo funcional, por ejemplo grupo sulfato, que actúa como grupo funcional ionizable para dar mayor solubilidad a la tinción con agua, posteriormente dar mayor solubilidad a los péptidos e influye en su ionización por espectrometría de masas. Preferentemente el colorante es Uniblue A.
