Abstract

An adapter kit for filtering and purifying water upon exiting the bladder of a personal hydration system, as well as for use with a portable water filtering and purifying apparatus wherein the water is first passed through a polyethylene prefilter containing a biocide to shock the water, and then is immersed in the biocide in a tubular conduit for at least the required contact time before such biocide and other potential contaminants are filtered out of the water via in series an activated carbon filter and a nanofilter
