Abstract
The invention relates to a head-up display (1) including: a base (2) attached to the cockpit (C) of an aircraft, an arm (3) connected by one end to the base (2) and by the other end to a screen mounting (4) capable of pivoting relative to the arm (3) about a second axis (X2), characterised in that said display includes: a means (44) for transmitting a rotary movement of the arm (3) relative to the base (2), about a first axis (X1), to a cam (28) that is rotatably mobile about a second axis (X2); a cam follower (27) rigidly connected to the screen mounting (4) rotatable about the second axis (X2), suitable for passing on the rotary movement of the cam (28) to the screen mounting (4) when the screen mounting (4) is not resting against a stop (39, 40) of the arm (3); a means (20) for applying a calibrated force in a direction parallel to the second axis (X2), referred to as the axial direction, capable of eliminating the tangential play between the screen mounting (4) and the arm (3) when the head-up display (1) is in operational position.
