Description
A RING WITH THE ABILITY OF MULTIPLE SIZE ADJUSTMENT AND A METHOD
FOR THIS PROCESS
Technical Field The invention relates to the rings, which belong to the classes of jewelry; bracelets; the other pieces of personal jewelry, and to the adjustable rings.
The invention relates in particular to a process for use in jewelry sector, in which the size of a ring is changed without being subjected to such stages as cutting or stretching, and also to an embodiment aimed at realizing said process.
State of the Art
The rings are aesthetic pieces of jewelry which the humans have worn on their fingers for various purposes since the ancient times. They are manufactured with an annular shape and are usually made from precious metals, to be offered to the likes of people. In addition to a high number of innovations performed in relation to the design of the rings, which are preferred for a reflection of status as well as the aesthetic tastes, a few works have been proposed with a view to provide functionality.
In order to increase the ring size, the method of stretching the ring or the method that involves cutting the ring, adding an extra piece and welding the same is employed. In both practices, the model of the ring becomes deformed. Said practices may not be employed in the round rings with stone, the rings with motif and the titanium rings.
In order to decrease the ring size, there is employed the practice, which involves cutting the ring, removing a portion such that the new desired size will be provided and rewelding the same. Also in this practice, the shape and the model of the ring suffer deformation, and it is not possible to apply it to the round rings with stone and motif, and to titanium rings.
The reason for the inability to apply said process on the titanium rings is that it is not possible to perform welding on the titanium metal.
Another type of ring is the rings with a fixed body, which have a rotating hoop in a central portion thereof. In such rings, which comprise a rotating hoop to be rotated by the wearers in stressful environments, the main body remains stationary and a hoop is rotated on said body.
The invention disclosed in the patent document no. JP 2008054733 relates to a rotating ring, which is equipped with the modifications of color, pattern or shape achieved by different designs in order to save the people from monotony and to make them happy, said ring being able to narrow according to the finger size and to provide protection against damages, and having a carved design. Said ring comprises a body made of a material such as metal, synthetic resin, wood, fabric, paper, ceramic and glass, and it may be fitted on a finger or a similar location. Said ring comprises two or more decorative elements. These elements may contain various shapes and colors. Shape variations may be obtained according to the direction of rotation of these elements and the ring body.
Further, the invention disclosed in the patent document no. JP 2001070017 relates to the rings, which may be fitted/moved in a multi-directional manner with an adjustable inclination angle, in order to obtain different designs.
In addition, the invention disclosed in the patent document no. DE 202004002978 relates to a ring comprising at least eight pieces/hoops. Each of these pieces is in the form of a leaf with a U-like shape and a spherical cap. The inner and the outer pieces may be turned in an outward or inward manner to change the diameter of said hoop. During the motion and use, the smallest or the biggest diameter value of the hoop is preserved. Here, it is rather difficult to obtain a stable structure with regard to the diameter change. The ring diameter may change upon the inward or outward movement of these pieces as a result of the involuntary actions during the use, and may lead the ring to go out of the finger or may cause discomfort in the finger. Also, with this structure, it is possible to obtain only 2 different diameter values.
Further, the invention disclosed in the patent document no. US 2007 137250 relates to a ring having a body with two or more pieces. There is a hoop to be positioned inside said body. In order for the hoop to fit into the outer ring body, the openings are
arranged on the hoop wall so as to face inwards and outwards, and there is aplurality of small rotating members positioned into said openings. Owing to this arrangement, the inner hoop may readily fit into the outer ring body. Also in this structure, there always exists the possibility for the dislocation of the inner hoop as a result of an involuntary action. As a result, it does not have a stable structure. In addition, it is possible to provide only one or two different diameter values. The structure comprised by the inner hoop and the outer ring body is not ergonomic and has a crude form.'
As a result, the presence of the need for a ring with the ability of multiple size adjustment and also a method for said process and the inadequacy of the existing solutions have made it necessary to provide an improvement in the relevant art.
Object of the Invention In order to eliminate the disadvantages of the state of the art, it is an object of the invention to provide the ability to change the size of the ring.
Another object of the invention is to provide the ability to change the size of the ring without the stretching or cutting process.
Another object of the invention is to provide the ability to change the size of the ring without any deformation.
In order to achieve the aforesaid advantages, the invention is a ring embodiment for use in the jewelry sector in such a way that the ring (1) size may be changed without being subjected to such processes as cutting or stretching, said ring embodiment comprising an inner hoop (3) fitted into the inner channel (2) formed inside the ring (1), an outer channel (4) formed in the outer part of the inner hoop (3) to enable said inner hoop (3) to be fitted into the inner channel of the ring, an inclined cut (5) formed on the inner hoop (3) to provide said hoop (3) with the ability of stretching for the purpose of providing an easy fitting and removal for the inner hoop (3) during both the assembly and disassembly procedures, and a hole (7) formed on the inner hoop (3) to facilitate an easy disassembly for said inner hoop (3).
The invention further comprises an opening (6) formed by means of some emptying steps performed on the inner hoop (3), in order to enable any possible writing on the inner side of the ring (1) to become visible.
The invention also relates to a process for use in the jewelry sector for changing the size of a ring (1) without being subjected to such processes as cutting or stretching characterized in that the inner hoop (3) to be fitted into the ring (1) based on the choice of size is fitted into the inner channel (2) formed inside the ring (1), and depending on a different choice of size, the inner hoop (3) may be removed by way of being pulled/pushed through the hole (7) provided and also by way of being stretched owing to the inclined cut (5) provided, so that it may be replaced with another inner hoop (3).
The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood from the figures provided below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures, therefore the evaluation must be made taking into consideration these figures and the detailed description.
Description of the Figures Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention in disassembled state. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the invention in assembled state.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The invention relates to a process for use in jewelry sector, in which the size of a ring is changed without being subjected to such stages as cutting or stretching, and also to a ring embodiment with the ability of multiple size adjustment aimed at realizing said process.
As illustrated in the perspective disassembly view of Figure 1 , the ring (1) is made according to the request of the user and the model ordered by the user. However, for the ordered ring (1) to have an adjustable size, it is necessary that the inner hoop (3) is able to be fitted into the ring (1). In order for the inner hoop (3) to be fitted into the ring (1), it is necessary that both a channel (2) inside the ring (1) and also the channels (4) on the outer surface of the outer hoop are present.
The ring embodiment is delivered to the user after being manufactured in two pieces such that the ring will be suitable for the alteration of size. When the finger size of the user exhibits change with time, due to such reasons as the increase/reduction of weight, the inner hoop (3) inside the ring (1) may be replaced with other hoops having different diameters. The replacement procedure may be easily achieved within just a few seconds by way of removal using a tool such as a hook tipped screwdriver. The new hoop to be used for changing the size may also be fitted by hand within a few seconds, without the need for any tool (Figure 2). An inclined cut (5) is formed on the inner hoop (3) to provide said hoop (3) with the ability of stretching for the purpose of providing an easy fitting and removal for the inner hoop (3) during both the assembly and disassembly procedures. Thus, the inner hoop (3) does not have a rigid structure, and it may perform stretching.
Further, as seen in Figure 2, some emptying steps have been performed to form the opening (6) on the inner hoop (3). The reason for this is to enable any possible writing inside the ring (1) to become visible.
This system, developed for the jewelry sector, may be applied on the rings made of any kind of metal.
The protective scope of this application is determined in the section of claims and the scope may by no means be limited to the description provided above only for exemplary purposes. It is obvious that a person skilled in the art may provide the innovation put forward by the invention also by using the similar embodiments and/or apply this embodiment to other fields used in the art for similar purposes. Consequently, such embodiments would obviously lack the criteria of inventive step.
