Abstract

The invention provides methods of extracting polyphenol compounds from botanical feed stocks. Also provided are food supplement compositions enriched in proanthocyanidins of type- A, including cinnamtannin Bl and related type- A trimers and tetramers, combined with extract of turmeric high in curcumin, as well as methods of using such compositions to treat diabetes mellitus and/or related diseases.
