Abstract

Le procédé de calcul du mode de prédiction comprend les étapes suivantes : calcul des gradients spatiaux (3) en fonction de différentes opérations de filtrage pour une zone reconstruite déjà codée de l'image située dans la zone voisine du bloc actuel, présélection de modes de prédiction préférés (4) parmi des modes de codage sur la base de prédicteurs obtenus à partir des pixels sur le bord immédiat du bloc actuel dans la zone reconstruite déjà codée de l'image, présélection basée sur une minimisation d'un niveau d'énergie associé à chaque filtrage par rapport à un gradient spatial, sélection du mode de prédiction (6), au moins parmi les modes de prédiction présélectionnés, minimisation d'un niveau d'énergie (5) correspondant à l'erreur de prédiction sur ladite zone située dans la zone voisine du bloc actuel. Ce procédé s'applique à la compression des données vidéo.
