Abstract

The invention relates to a method for preserving anatomical preparations, such as human or animal bodies or body parts, and essentially consists of the following processing steps: (a) keeping a preserving solution that contains a natural shellac resin; (b) introducing at least one anatomical preparation to be preserved into a gas- and liquid-tight processing chamber; (c) introducing the preserving solution into the processing chamber until the anatomical preparation is completely covered therewith; (d) increasing the pressure in the processing chamber to a prescribed pressure in the range of at least 2 bar; and (e) stopping the application of the increased pressure after a prescribed treatment time and draining the preserving solution.
