Abstract

Selon l’invention, des fines particules solides présentes dans un courant de gaz, en particulier les particules de cendre volante dans le courant de gaz chaud provenant d'une unité de production de gaz de synthèse utilisant du charbon/coke, sont agglomérées par passage dans un élément de matrice à circulation de gaz possédant un corps avec des canaux de circulation de gaz confinés qui mettent les particules à proximité étroite les unes des autres dans un environnement de faible turbulence; une surface rugueuse sur les passages d'écoulement de gaz fournit une induction superficielle pour favoriser l'agglomération des particules. Les particules agglomérées de plus grande taille peuvent ensuite être enlevées du courant de gaz par des séparateurs à inertie tels que des cyclones.
