Abstract

This invention relates to a single crystal zirconium oxide having superior mechanical processability and a method for its manufacture. Single crystal zirconium oxide consists of 92 - 96 wt % ZrO2, 4 - 8 wt % Y2O3 and other unavoidable substances. It is produced by a skull method which provides single crystal zirconium oxide having cubic, monoclinic and tetragonal crystal shapes.
