- the shortened RS coding scheme may use RS(255, 239) as a mother code.
- the entire protocol header (hereinafter, referred to as a frame header length) is generally less than 239 bytes and thus zero bytes corresponding to "239 bytes - frame header length" may be added behind information bytes.
- the zero bytes may be eliminated before parity bits are generated and are transmitted to a reception apparatus.
- the transmission apparatus may need to be aware of a number of zero bytes used in a transmission apparatus.

- the scrambler 530 may append the HCS to the MAC header and scramble the MAC header and the HCS.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de configurer un en-tête de protocole dans un système de communication sans fil ainsi qu'un appareil et un procédé de communication utilisant le procédé de configuration d'en-tête de protocole. Le procédé de configuration d'en-tête de protocole peut consister à : configurer un en-tête de couche physique (PHY) de longueur variable et un en-tête de couche physique de longueur fixe; coder l'en-tête de couche physique de longueur fixe selon un premier modèle de codage; générer une séquence de contrôle d'en-tête (HCS) pour contrôler une erreur liée à une combinaison de l'en-tête de couche physique de longueur fixe, de l'en-tête de couche physique de longueur variable et d'un en-tête MAC (Media Access Control, « contrôle d'accès au support physique » en français); brouiller l'en-tête MAC et une séquence HCS afin de générer un en-tête MAC et une séquence HCS brouillés; et coder l'en-tête de couche physique de longueur variable, l'en-tête MAC et la séquence HCS brouillés selon un deuxième modèle de codage.
