Abstract

Wind turbine especially for the built environment, comprising a diffuser which has both a flow augmenting function and a sound damping function. Optionally the diffuser is provided with an integrated noise damper which is located essentially in the range of the blade tips. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the diameter of the outflow opening of the diffuser is about 8% larger than the diameter of the inflow opening.
