Each of these flaps having a width which is less than the width of the connecting side walls 23, 24 and at least one magnetic strip secured to the inner surface of the corresponding flap so as to releasably hold the cover to the
T0014-00188
-6- banknote cassette by releasably securing each of these flaps to the ferromagnetic bottom panel of the cassette 10.
In a further alternative shown in Fig.4, the connecting side panel 24 and one of the end panels 25 of the blank which also form a connecting side panel are extended by preferably a trapezoidal flap 30, 31. Each of these flaps 30, 31 has a detachable fastening means 27 secured to the inner surface of each flap, in the form of a block of short magnetic segment 32. Alternatively, it may be possible to provide the blank with only one trapezoidal flap dimensioned in such a way that the sleeve cover is retained to the banknote cassette during its transport.
The sleeve and the blank as described herein have the advantages of offering a simple reusable cover for a banknote cassette which is also easy to be folded when not used by the fact that the cover does not have a bottom panel but only at least one foldable flap. Furthermore, the sleeve cover can be easily secured to the cassette thanks to the magnetic strip. Additionally, a user can ease the insertion or extraction of the sleeve cover from the cassette by using the flap.
Although the blank as described in the examples herein has the two opposite ends secured together by glue, it will be appreciated that alternative construction or modification to the way the opposite ends of the blank are secured is possible without departing from the scope of the invention.
Furthermore, in a modification, it will be appreciated that the releasable fastening means could be replaced by a ferromagnetic material member arranged on the sleeve in such a way that in use this ferromagnetic member is connected to a magnet provided on the cassette. Such a magnet could advantageously be used to trigger a reed switch for presence or denomination indication when the cassette is in use in the handling device.
