Abstract

The invention is aimed at greatly simplifying the construction of interconnections between the cells of a photovoltaic module and increasing the efficiency of manufacturing the modules by decreasing the rate of defect by breakage of the cells. The invention is also aimed at constructing photovoltaic modules which provide a high voltage. The invention relates to the structure of a photovoltaic module comprising photovoltaic cells arranged in rows and connected in series in one and the same row. In a module according to the invention, the network of electrodes of the front face of a first cell and the network of electrodes of the rear face of a second cell of one and the same row of cells of the photovoltaic module are interconnected by means of a single interconnection element. The width of this interconnection element is at least equal to 80% of the width of the cell. Preferably, the cells forming the module according to the invention have a length to width ratio of greater than or equal to five and, on their front face, a network of monodirectional electrodes parallel to the smallest side of the cell.
