Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système de caisse enregistreuse et un procédé de fonctionnement d'un système de caisse enregistreuse. Le système de caisse enregistreuse comporte un système de vérification d'âge. Une image d'une personne est capturée et transmise à un centre éloigné de vérification d'âge. Un signal d'autorisation est ultérieurement reçu si l'image de la personne peut être déterminée comme ayant un âge permettant l'achat d'un article dont la vente est limitée par l'âge. Un signal de mise en vente n'est fourni que si le signal d'autorisation est reçu afin de permettre le paiement de l'article dont la vente est limitée par l'âge.
