Abstract

본 발명은 움직임 예측에 기초한 영상 부호화 방법 및 장치, 그리고 움직임 예측에 기초한 영상 복호화 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 영상 부호화 방법은 참조 프레임에서, 참조 프레임 상의 현재 추정자를 중심으로 하는 후보 추정자 범위 중 적어도 하나의 후보 추정자를 포함하는 적어도 하나의 후보 추정자 집합을 결정하고, 결정된 적어도 하나의 후보 추정자 집합 중 각각의 후보 추정자 집합의 후보 추정자를 이용하여 결정된 가설 추정자들의 오차율에 기초하여 참조 추정자를 결정하며, 참조 추정자에 대응되는 참조 블록 및 현재 블록을 이용하여 현재 프레임에 대한 움직임 예측을 수행하고, 움직임 예측 수행 결과에 기초하여 현재 프레임을 포함하는 영상 데이터를 부호화함으로써, 화면 간 예측의 성능을 개선시킬 수 있다.
