Abstract

An optical trapping particle (1) for optical trapping by means of an optical tweezers comprises a core particle (11) having a first refractive index and a shell (12) having a second refractive index. Thereby, the first refractive index is higher than the second refractive index. With such an optical trapping particle (1) coated with a shell (12) arranged for acting as an anti-reflection coating, during optical trapping the trap stiffness can be increased compared to an uncoated optical trapping particle.
