Abstract

Arrangement for influencing and detecting magnetic particles (100) ina region of action (300) of an object (350), comprising: - selection means (210) generating, a magnetic selection field (211) having a pattern in space of its magnetic field strength such that a first sub-zone (301) having a low and a second sub-zone (302) having a higher magnetic field strength are formed in the region of action, - drive means (220) changing the position in space of the two sub- zones in the region of action by a magnetic drive field (221) so that the magnetization of the magnetic particles changes locally, - receiving means' (230) acquiring signals depending on the magnetization in the region of action, which magnetization • is influenced bythe change in position in space of the first and second sub-zone, - an output device, wherein the selection means, drive means and receiving means are provided' at least partly movable relative to the object, the region of action is situated outside a space surrounding the selection means, drive means, and receiving means. Disclosed ' are methods of locating and marking lymph nodes.
