Abstract

When a content portion and a non-content portion are automatically identified in a recorded program, it is possible to check whether an erroneous identification is present and correct the error if any. A drive control unit selectively reads out non-content data according to a plurality of tags in management information indicating the positions of the content and the non-content. If an instruction unit receives an instruction from a user while a non-content is being reproduced, the drive control unit modifies the tag indicating the non-content being reproduced or adds a tag indicating a position of a content. After reproduction of the non-content, the drive control unit selectively reads out the content data according to a plurality of tags existing after the reproduction of the non-content. Then, an output control unit executes reproduction of the content.
