Abstract
Provided is a bipolar battery the battery life of which is extended by improving the adhesion of positive and negative electrodes and a collector body. A bipolar battery (30) comprises three bipolar plates (10). A positive plate (13) having a positive electrode layer (3) is arranged on the uppermost side. A negative plate (14) having a negative electrode layer (4) is arranged on the lowermost side. The bipolar plate (10) has the positive electrode layer (3) on one surface side of a collector body (1) in which lead is melt in porous alumina and the porous alumina is impregnated with the lead and the negative electrode layer (4) on the other surface side thereof. The positive plate (13), the negative plate (14), and each bipolar plate (10) are arranged via a retainer (5) in such a manner that the positive electrode layer (3) and the negative electrode layer (4) are opposed to each other. In the bipolar plate (10), a powder rolled sheet (2) in which lead alloy powder containing tin is rolled is arranged between the positive electrode layer (3) and the collector body (1) and the negative electrode layer (4) and the collector body (1). In the powder rolled sheet (2), the lead alloy powder is approximately uniquely dispersed to prevent the sheet from being transformed easily.
