Abstract

Cable eléctrico resistente al fuego, capaz de mantener el servicio durante el incendio, de los formados por uno o mas conductores (2). Este cable incorpora, alrededor de los conductores (2), un compuesto pastoso intumescente (7) que rellena todos los intersticios existentes entre ellos. Este compuesto (7) se determina sobre una base liquida, la cual, justo en el rango de temperaturas, en el que las cubiertas aislantes (3) de material polimétrico de los conductores (2) se ven afectadas, entra en ebullición, produciéndose la consiguiente evaporación de dicha base liquida y una expansión del compuesto (7); de manera que el compuesto (7), ya expandido, recubre a los hilos conductores (2.1 ) de los conductores (2), remplazando a las cubiertas (3), evitando que se produzca un cortocircuito y manteniendo la integridad del circuito.
